World News Islamabad – Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan arrived in Lahore on Saturday amid the coronavirus outbreak in the South Asian country.
Foreign Minister (FM) Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Minister for Science and Technology Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, Minister for Federal Education and (MFE) Professional Training Shafqat Mehmood, and Prime Minister's Special Assistants Dr Sania Nishtar, Shehzad Akbar, and Usman Dar are accompanying the premier on the one-day visit.
Imran Khan will be briefed about steps taken so far to prevent spread of coronavirus in Punjab, the Radio Pakistan reported.
"The PM (prime minister) will also hold meetings with Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, and volunteers of Corona Relief Tiger Force:.
He will also visit "quarantine center established at Expo Centre" in Lahore. This quarantine Centre consists of one thousand beds.
"Pakistan leads South Asia with the highest number of coronavirus cases in the region, a total of 2,708, according to government data on Saturday afternoon".
The death toll related to COVID-19 has reached 39, according to the National Command and Control Centre, while at least 135 patients have fully recovered..
