MULTAN --The eighth match of Pakistan Super League's fifth edition will be played between Multan Sultans and Peshawar Zalmi in Multan.
This the first match of Sultans at their home ground while a mega event is going to be held in Multan after over 12 years.
The match will be started at 7:00PM [Pakistan Standard Time].
The home side "Multan Sultans" sit in fourth place on the points table having won the game against Lahore, thanks to their potent spin attack, but then the revamped franchise put in a rather insipid performance against Islamabad where they couldn't handle the onslaught from Luke Ronchi [74] seventy four and Colin Munro [50] fifty.
Meanwhile, the yellow storm is picking up momentum and Multan's owner Ali Tareen has made a request albeit a lighthearted one - to his counterpart, Javed Afridi and asked him to tell Kamran to go easy on Multan today.
Akmal's partnership with the budding cricketer Haider Ali, who has risen to prominence from U19 level proved to be the difference in the high voltage tussle against Quetta.
Peshawar boast fine death bowling options in the shape of Hasan Ali and Wahab Riaz - the latter is a sandshoe crusher specialist but today, they will be up against seasoned campaigners, Moeen Ali and Rilee Rossouw, who have had a few games to acclimatize to the conditions, and it could be their day to live up to the billing and justify their platinum player status.
Mohammad Irfan's lukewarm performance is a sign of worry for Multan because he looked languid in his last spell and leaked 43 runs while Imran Tahir was also taken to the cleaners by United's belligerent opening pair.
Multan Sultans Squad:
Shan Masood [capt], Rilee Rossouw, James Vince, Zeeshan Ashraf, Khshdil Shah, Wayne Madsen, Shahid Afridi, Moeen Ali, Ravi Bopara, Sohail Tanvir, Bilawal Bhatti, Rohail Nazir (wk), Fabian Allen, Mohammad Ilyas, Ali Shafiq, Mohammad Irfan, Junaid Khan, Imran Tahir, Usman Qadir
